Using primary sources in the classroom allows students to develop knowledge, skills, and analytical abilities across content areas. With primary sources teachers can create authentic learning experiences that empower students to ask questions, think critically, make inferences, and develop reasoned explanations and interpretations based on evidence. Participants will work through a series of primary sources using a variety of protocols to develop content knowledge in science and social studies. Participants will also learn how the school librarians can support the learning and integrate technology into the classroom learning activities.
